The first one I’ll talk about is Happiness Planner. It focuses on positive thinking + personal progress, with 100 open-dated pages + spaces for reflection + goal-setting. It is so important to focus on what makes you happy; life is simply too short. One of my favorite pages so far is the “10 Rules to Live by for those who Live a Positive Life”:
- BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SKIN
- APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE + NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF WITH OTHERS
- SEE THE POSITIVE IN EVERY SITUATION
- LET GO OF YOUR NEED TO CONTROL
- DROP THE RESENTMENT WITHIN
- LIVE IN THE MOMENT
- AVOID OVERANALYZING
- STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE FUTURE
- DROP YOUR EGO AND BE TRUE
- HAVE AN OPEN MIND
I am guilty of not following some of these rules but I feel so inspired to challenge myself to work toward a more positive lifestyle + a more positive self! I hope y’all find this book just as interesting, if not inspiring, as I do. Our minds are such beautiful + brilliant outlets; it’s time to make the most out of what it has to offer. Something I find so admirable about someone’s character is their ability to truthfully self reflect; acknowledging their strengths as well as their weaknesses, being able to separate what makes them happy from what doesn’t + how they can change what isn’t making them happy. I encourage y’all to get this book!! Although I’m just getting started I have this incredible feeling that it’ll bring me closer to myself (as weird as that sounds) + I think it would do the same for y’all! I’m such a sucker for these type of things so I’m beyond excited for what this book will give me when I’m finished!!
For all y’all out there who are list people (yes, I am one of those people I love lists!!), this one’s for you! The 52 List Project provides thoughtful + seasonal prompts to get you listing all the ways in which you can find beauty in the world around you.
Obviously it’s summer so I’ll be starting this book somewhere in the middle but I can’t wait to challenge myself with these lists. The first list for the Summer section is List 27: List the things that make you feel healthy: mind, body, + soul. I wanted to share with y’all what makes me feel healthy. I will talk about this topic more in depth in another post but the one thing that always keeps me grounded is horseback riding. I’ve been riding since I was in first grade and it has ultimately shaped me into the person I am today. I’m looking forward to sharing with y’all this huge piece of me so stay tuned!!
I hope y’all enjoyed this post!! Xoxo
